Carbon County Emergency Management is dedicated to the safety of all carbon county residents. It is our goal at Emergency Management to help both the county employees and the public to plan, prepare, mitigate, respond and recover from any type of emergency that poses a threat to human life, critical infrastructure or the environment. We provide a variety of services to help you prepare for the next emergency that is coming.
DEPARTMENT SERVICES
MISSION STATEMENT
The Region VI Response Team is made up of designated individuals from local public safety agencies who are dedicated to serving our communities and protecting the environment through prevention, preparedness, with both efficient and effective response to hazardous materials incidents, whether accidental or intentional.
VISION
The vision of the Hazmat Response Team is to cooperatively identify and resolve issues regarding the planning, training, and preparation for, and response to hazardous materials incidents that are most likely to occur within the local jurisdiction. All public safety participants agree that efficiency and effectiveness can only be achieved when jurisdictional issues, turf, and stand-alone effort are set aside and cooperation, collaboration and partnerships are implemented. All participants to this vision value this forum that allows for addressing each other's issues and concerns.
COMPOSITION
The Region VI Response Team is composed of hazmat technicians and support personnel. These personnel come from various agencies and disciplines. These disciplines include:
- Firefighters
- EMTs
- Law Enforcement
- Environmental Health
Hazmat Operations Level Training for all agencies is included, with extensive Technician Level training for select members of the team including product detection, identification, and classification. The Hazmat Team is composed of specially trained team members from throughout the region. The Team's operational mission upon deployment is to isolate, notify, protect, control, and to recover from and or terminate the hazardous materials incident.
AGENCY MEMBERSHIP
The Region VI Hazmat Response Team would never have been a possibility without the complete support of the many cities, jurisdictions, agencies, and private industry partners throughout the region. These key members of the team are critical to the survivability and operational effectiveness of the Team.
